After nearly 2 months staying in airbnbs, I am finally settling in a place where I’ll be able to stay longer! I moved out of Paris and rented a small apartment in Nice, in the south of France. I had been here once before, for a couple of days, and thought the city was so pretty. That was literally my only criteria, as all I really wanted was to get out of Paris and not have to spend an arm and a leg for a lousy room in someone’s basement.
I did, however, also get covid-19 as I was moving, which wasn’t fun. It could have been much worse, though… I had headaches and spent 4-5 days in the bathroom, basically. It was one uncomfortable week and then it was over. The catch, however, is that as soon as it was over I fell off the stairs, so I am now nursing a hurt foot. I am unsure of how bad it is, but I can stand on it and move a little, so it can’t be too horrible. We’ll see.
I have finally finished my thesis! I don’t even wanna know what the grade will be at this point… and I don’t feel relieved yet, I don’t think the fact that my Masters is pretty much over has synched in yet. It might have something to do with the million other things I have going on at the moment (can’t reschedule my appointment to pick up my student visa extension because it is literally impossible to reach a Parisian prefecture by phone, email or facebook, can’t figure out what the hell is wrong with my health insurance, inherited a bug problem from the previous tenant of this apartment, decided to adopt a cat…).
Well.
